Playing some more catch up here! I loved photographing Amy and Nate’s Weymouth Center wedding in Southern Pines. They were such a fun couple, and had the most playful bridesmaids and groomsmen. It was an unbelievably wet, cold and rainy spring, and I was so glad that their wedding happened to be on one of the prettiest days of the year! They totally lucked out. I was watching the weather like a hawk that spring because I was also getting married later that month! May is such a great month to get married in North Carolina. May and October are my two favorite wedding months because the weather is not too cold and not too hot, and it is less humid than the summer. Blooming flowers and fall leaves are the cherry on top!
The Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities is always a treat to photograph. I love the simplicity and elegance of the building and the surrounding garden and woods are full of lush natural beauty and perfect for portraits. It was a great match for Amy and Nate. Amy was one of the sweetest brides I have worked with and was such a joy to be around. I spent a little bit of time photographing the guys getting ready, and they were hilarious. I’m not sure I’ve ever laughed so hard while photographing groomsmen. They had plenty of fun poses they were eager to share with me, and I documented it all (not all shown here)! hahaha Gotta keep it mostly classy on the blog!! They were so much fun. The girls were amazing as well. I had never seen a group chest bump by a bunch of bridesmaids until that day, and I suppose I might never see that again. Needless to say, it was a very fun wedding! Check out some of my favorite images.
OMG. THE FOOD. The food at this wedding was SO AMAZING. It was catered by Elliott’s Catering Company, and it was so fresh and delicious and best of all, local! I was so delighted to see a station of locally made cheeses. Yum yum. I am putting them on my preferred vendor list for sure.
