The East Chapel Hill High School football team hadn’t won a single game in nearly 2 years, and it had been since August in 2005 the last time they won a home game. On Friday night’s Homecoming game, things changed when the Wildcats won against Northern Durham 24-21. It was incredible to see the football players hugging each other, crying and just enjoying the moment they had been longing for. The visiting team was winning until the 4th quarter, and the two were tied until the last 15 seconds of the game when Thomas Moore kicked a 50-meter field goal. The students cheering in the stands went wild and rushed the field. According to a parent, the cheering section has been extremely supportive at every single game, even though the team was winless. My favorite high school football game to photograph so far!
