The Williams family are outdoorsy mountain lovers and asked to have their photos taken with a beautiful mountain backdrop. We chose a gorgeous mountain top at Craggy Gardens on the Blue Ridge Parkway for their session. I’m so in LOVE with this place! I remember the first time I went hiking there when I was in high school. It is one of my favorite wild places to soak in the view. I even saw a bear there one time when I was hiking with my husband! Fall in the mountains is just the BEST and I was thrilled the Williams family asked me to take these pictures.
This family session was one of my favorites of all time because it combined so many of my loves: beautiful sunsets, mountains, kids, hiking and photography! It has been so much fun seeing Scarlett grow over the last couple of years. I photographed her around 6 months and again at one year old. It was awesome seeing Scarlett toddle around on the mountain top and explore. Two is such a fun age when kids explore their independence but still need the safety of mommy and daddy. Scarlett would climb up and down big boulders and had bursts of independence, but she was quick to reach out for mom and dad and was such a little snuggle monkey. Her big, excited smile was so adorable!
