The Barn at Valhalla Wedding: Tugba + Lee

Chapel Hill wedding

Tuğba and Lee’s wedding was unique, beautiful and a true reflection of who they are as a couple. They have a bunch of cute little nieces and nephews and included all of them in the wedding ceremony. Tuğba and Lee saw each other beforehand and walked together through the field to the ceremony, which I thought was really cool and different. The weather was as gorgeous as you can get in April with a cool breeze and plenty of sunshine. Tuğba and Lee both have grad degrees in music and had several friends play the music for the ceremony. I was like a kid in a candy store when the sun was about to go down and that beautiful gold light washed over the field just when we were doing portraits- so gorgeous!

Lee brewed his own beer for the wedding- how great is that!? I was really excited to see Mediterranean Deli was catering the dinner because they are my favorite restaurant in Chapel Hill. If you have never been, you have got to go! Soooo delicious! Best wedding food I have ever had! The Rye Mountain Boys played some amazing bluegrass music, and they were super nice guys. Later in the evening, Tuğba and Lee danced to Turkish music with their guests, several of whom came all the way from Turkey to celebrate with them. You know you are loved when your wedding guests travel from overseas to come celebrate with you! There was a big full moon and I was really excited to get a few shots of Tuğba and Lee with the moon. Tuğba and Lee’s wedding was so much fun to photograph and it was a joy to see all of their family and friends celebrate their marriage with them. There were so many sincere smiles and happy faces!
