I love engagement sessions. They give me some time to get to know my clients free of the hustle and bustle of the wedding day, and it’s just plain fun. There’s plenty of time to be creative and get some shots that really capture what makes a couple so great together.
I met Sara and Evan for the first time and they are just so adorable together. Just look at the way they look at each other! It’s love. A big scary thunderstorm rolled in just as we were getting started and the sky got dark. I mean really dark. Big, crazy bolts of lightening and thunder came shortly after that. I love shooting when it’s beautiful out and using natural light, but this gave me the opportunity to play with off-camera flash for the first time during an engagement session, and it was a lot of fun. We’ll be getting together soon for a 2nd round of photos and hopefully the weather will be gorgeous!
Evan is a marine and proposed to Sara right after he got off the bus coming home from Afghanistan! I am in awe of how military couples do it- the distance, the danger, all of it. It takes some serious dedication and commitment. I bet Evan will make a handsome groom in his dress blues! It will be my first military wedding and I am pretty excited about it!

Heather Follmer - Love these!!!
David - When were these pictures taken? Looks like they were taken at Resurrection Church, where I used to go to school.
jtenney - Thanks! Yep, you are right David. The photos were taken at Resurrection Church.
David Book - Can’t wait for the wedding! What expressive moments captured in the wink of an eye. Our son has found a sweet, strong, soul mate. Her beauty radiates right out of her heart. Doug, Mary; Gayle and I are looking forward to joining our families together on May 28th.
