It’s not everyday that I get to photograph a Miami engagement! Jenna and Greg are getting married in North Carolina in May of 2016, but they live in Miami. I just so happened to be traveling to Florida on a vacation recently with my family. My husband and I loaded up our baby in the car and drove down to Orlando for a few days, then we went to Sanibel Island where we stayed with my parents and our dogs for a week. It was soooo nice soaking up some sunshine, collecting beautiful seashells, playing with Heidi in the pool, eating delicious seafood, and spending some good quality time with my family. I always long for warmth and sunshine this time of year, and a trip to sunny Florida was such a nice break from winter. Sanibel Island is famous for the amazing variety and number of seashells you can find there. I’ve never seen so many shells in my life! It was awesome.
While planning our trip, it occurred to me that I could shoot Jenna and Greg’s engagement photos while I was in Florida and emailed Jenna about it. She was super excited to do their engagement session there, especially since it wasn’t certain if and when we would be able to make it happen in NC before their wedding. My husband and baby came along with me on the drive to Miami, and we had a nice day exploring before and after the shoot. It’s always a treat to photograph somewhere new and different, and I was really excited to see the spot Jenna had picked out. We emailed back and forth to figure out logistics, and by the time I met Jenna in person, I felt like I already knew her. She chose Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on Key Biscayne for her session, and it was so beautiful.
Jenna and Greg were a dream to photograph and the park was so gorgeous! We had amazing weather, and the day really couldn’t have been more perfect. The best part was definitely seeing what a special bond Jenna and Greg have. They are both total overachievers and obviously work very hard, but they have so much fun together and totally let loose and had a great time during their session. Greg is in his residency as a surgeon and Jenna is in her last year of medical school. I suppose when you work as hard as they do, you really savor the free time you have as a couple. Jenna and Greg are so kind and fun to be around, and I’m so lucky to have them as clients! Jenna is such a sweet person and gave me a bottle of wine as a thank you for coming to Miami to do their engagement session. Jenna and Greg are also dog lovers, and you always get bonus points with me if you love dogs! : ) I’m always amazed at how interesting and awesome my clients are, and I feel really lucky to work with such wonderful people. Jenna and Greg are certainly no exception. I CAN’T WAIT for their Castle Ladyhawke wedding in spring of 2016!
