When Jess suggested Merritt’s Pasture for her Chapel Hill engagement session, I wasn’t sure exactly where she was talking about, but as soon as I got there, I realized I had been running there back when I was a student at UNC. Merritt’s Pasture is such a beautiful, peaceful place and was so perfect for Jess and Ken’s laid back engagement shoot with their dogs. I felt like I was just documenting a normal day in their life. It was very relaxed and casual, and I love the soft, romantic, playful feel of the pictures we got! We had to walk almost a mile from the parking lot to get the pasture, but I was totally fine with this since I love a good walk and it gave us a chance to catch up a little bit before pictures started. I met Jess in school at UNC, and it had been a few years since I saw her last. It was so much fun catching up and photographing this sweet pair! The puppy snuggles were definitely the cherry on top. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this fall!
