Meet Carol, my fabulous office assistant!

Meet Carol, the newest addition to the Jenny Tenney Photography team!  Ever since she started working as my office assistant in March, we’ve gotten SO much done.  I can’t even believe how efficient Carol is and how much of a difference she has made in my business (and my life)!  With a curious 17 month old running around, there’s only so much I can accomplish in one day.  Ever since she started working with me, Carol has kept things running smoothly and has cut my turnover time down to nothing.  It used to take me several weeks to get wedding clients their images, which is pretty average for most wedding photographers, but now it only takes about a week or even less, thanks to Carol.  AMAZING!  My clients have been so surprised and excited to get their images in only a few days!  On top of that, Carol is a wonderful person and she is so much fun to be around.  She is starting school at Randolph Community College this fall to study photography and already has shown she has a natural talent and an artistic eye.  She’ll be 2nd shooting her first wedding with me next month, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together during the busy fall wedding season coming up!  I asked Carol to write a little bit about herself, so scroll to the bottom to get to know her better!

Hi! I’m Carol! I’ve grown up here in Salisbury since I was about 8 years old. I went to school at North Hills Christian School and then to Salisbury High. I later attended Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte to pursue my passion in Culinary Arts (I love FOOD!). But after about 8 ½ years of working in a bakery, my hearts passion was shifted. I realized that I found more joy in taking pictures of food than actually making it. I was also reminded of my dream job when I was only 10 years old and so badly wanted to be a photographer for The National Geographic.

Last fall, I read a book called “The Dream Giver”. I HIGHLY recommend it. It inspired me to take a leap of faith and pursue my dream so that I can love my life, and not just live it. But I didn’t know where to start. So I decided that this fall, I will be studying Commercial Photography at Randolph Community College in Asheboro, but I didn’t want to wait until the fall to get started on my dream! I heard of a job opening for a part-time photographer’s assistant for Jenny Tenney Photography.  In my interview, I felt that we hit it off immediately and thought she would be a lot of fun to work for. I waited for another couple of days until I finally got the phone call that I had gotten the job! I couldn’t believe it! My dream was beginning!!

It’s been a few months since I started working for Jenny, and I am loving wedding photography. Every time I see the photos from a wedding Jenny has shot, I am reminded of my wedding day and how much love filled that day, surrounded by only the people that I cared to share my day with (and not to mention getting to eat delicious food). I wish I could get married every year to my husband, with different settings and different themes each time. I love seeing all the little details of each different wedding that makes them all so unique. By the end of editing the entire wedding, I feel like I know the couple.
