I call this a bridal session, but it is more of a trash the dress shoot. However, we didn’t really ‘trash’ Leigh’s beautiful gown, we just had some fun with it! I took Leigh’s engagement pictures in the fall of 2010 soon after she and her husband had moved to Salisbury. Their engagement shoot was to die for! Their adorable dogs got to take part and oh, the pictures were so cute! I didn’t get the pleasure of shooting Leigh and Todd’s wedding last year in Ohio because they already had a photographer lined up back home. I was really excited when Leigh told me she wanted to do a trash the dress session- yes please!! Leigh is a so much fun to be around. She is sweet, laid back, very easy to talk to, and she’s adventurous! I didn’t ask her to climb the tree, that was her idea! I love it when I get to photograph people who can relax and enjoy their shoot, and it is wonderful when they bring some of their own awesome ideas to the table.
I absolutely love spring time here in North Carolina. I walk through Hurley Park with my dog frequently, and every March I walk by the beautiful cherry trees and tulip magnolias and wish I had a bride to photograph right that very second. Finally I got my wish! The tulip magnolias in Hurley Park are one of the first things to bloom, and boy, are they gorgeous. Almost as gorgeous as the beautiful bride in these photos! Well, Leigh is now a married woman, but who doesn’t love to get all the use you can out of your fabulous wedding gown?!

Check out those cute J. Crew boots!

The next few were taken at Carrigan Farms in Mooresville. I have been wanting to shoot at the rock quarry there for some time, and Leigh was up for the trek! Carrigan Farms is a gorgeous wedding venue. I would love to photograph one there! The law firm my fiance works at has their yearly cookout at Carrigan Farms, and it is the perfect spot for any gathering. You can jump off the rocks into the quarry and swim. So much fun!
